Willow River Man Dies after Car Hits Trees
A Willow River man died Thursday after his car left the road and slammed into trees.
51-year-old Robert Kwapick was pronounced dead on scene.
The Pine County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the crash on Highway 61, north of Swanson Road, near Rutledge, around 7:45 Thursday night.
The caller told police that Kwapick was unresponsive. Authorities say the caller initiated CPR until first responders showed up.
Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and Kwapick was pronounced dead on scene.
The accident remains under investigation by the Pine County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
