Major Restoration Project Celebrated at Chambers Grove Park

$400 Thousand Project Complete

The St. Louis River is one of 43 areas of concern designated under the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.

But just last month, a 400 thousand dollar restoration was completed at Chambers Grove Park, marking another step forward in changing the area from a place of concern, to a place of recovery.

The project restored 1000 feet of river bank, and created 2 acres of fish spawning habitat. With tourism being an important industry in the area, government officials say keeping the river healthy is crucial.

Congressman Nolan Says he is confident that more funding will be provided to help further the progress of restoring the areas of concern in the Great Lakes.
