Duluth Based Retailer Closed for Thanksgiving

maurices Putting Employees Ahead of Dollars

Duluth based retailer, maurices will be closing all brick and mortar stores for Thanksgiving.

The store’s inventory will be available for online shoppers, but retail store employees are being given the day to spend time with their families.

maurices says the move is part of their #givethanks campaign and approach to this year’s holiday shopping season.

Closing for the holiday, is a major risk for any retailer.

Many retailers will be open from 6 p.m. on Thursday until 1 a.m. on Friday, before closing until 6 a.m., Friday morning.

During last year’s holiday season, maurices made nearly $30 million in profits and saw $280 million in sales volume.

Employees say having Thanksgiving off, will not only allow them to enjoy their family and friends, but be better prepared to help customers on Black Friday.

The Miller Hill Mall maurices store will open at 6 a.m. on Friday morning.
