Jamar Clark Laid to Rest Wednesday

Funeral services for a man shot and killed by Minneapolis Police are scheduled for Wednesday. 

The funeral for 24-year-old Jamar Clark is at Shiloh Temple International Ministries in North Minneapolis. 

Visitation started at 10 a.m., with the funeral service starting at noon. 

The services are open to the public. 

Community leaders are calling for peace during the funeral.  Family members of Clark have asked for no protests as he is laid to rest. 

Protesters have been camped out at the Minneapolis 4th police precinct since the shooting on November 15. 

Steven Belton, Interim President of the Minneapolis Urban League, says demonstrators already achieved much of they wanted, including the names of the officers involved and a federal investigation. 

Belton says the vigil must end and that it’s time to let the investigation take it’s course.

Clark was shot in the head on November 15 by Minneapolis Police.  He died the next day after being taken off of life support. 

Police say Clark was a suspect in a domestic assault and was shot after allegedly interfering with paramedics who were trying to provide first aid to the victim. 

The shooting sparked protests after some witnesses said the man was handcuffed and not resisting when he was shot.

The BCA is investigating the shooting. 

A federal Civil Rights investigation has also been launched.
