State Parks Offer Free Admission on Black Friday

Minnesota State Parks offered up their own Black Friday deals this year.

Admission to all state parks was free on Friday.

Northlanders took advantage of the offer at Jay Cooke State Park in Carlton.

The park saw visitors of all ages and interests.

Despite the subfreezing temperatures, they even had some kayakers.

“I think it’s a great opportunity to introduce the public to the state parks and give them an opportunity after a kind of heavy eating holiday, to get out and enjoy the benefits of nature”

Park officials logged more than 100 vehicles passing through the gates before 3 p.m. Friday.
