Planned Parenthood Shooting Suspect in Court Monday
The man accused of opening fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado is expected to make his first appearance in court Monday.
Authorities say Robert Dear shot and killed three people, including a university Police Officer, at a Planned Parenthood clinic Friday.
Dear was in a standoff with authorities that lasted nearly six hours.
Five other police officers and four civilians were wounded in the shooting.
The Justice Department is reviewing the attack as possible domestic terrorism and looking at potential hate crime charges.
Meanwhile, new details are emerging about a possible motive in the attacks.
Police say that Dear talked about “baby parts” to investigators when he surrendered.
Authorities say he allegedly told police he has anti-government and anti-abortion views.
Following the attack, investigators also found propane tanks near the suspect’s car, possibly intended to create an explosion.
