Salvation Army needs Bell Ringers in Virginia

The Virginia, Minnesota Salvation Army is in desperate need of more bell ringers for the holiday season.

The Salvation Army is looking to fill nearly 2,000 hours of ringing shifts in Virginia now through Christmas Eve.  So far, just over 500 hours have been filled by volunteers.

“A kettle with a bell ringer is the difference between one that brings in a few cents and one that brings in $400 in a day,” said Lt. Sean Wise, Virginia Salvation Army administrator.

The Virginia Salvation Army has kettle locations at L&M Fleet Supply, Walmart, Walgreens, Thunderbird Mall, Big Kmart, and the Super One stores.

Bell ringing shifts run around two-and-a-half hours.
