Deer Kill Up during Wisconsin Hunting Season
Hunters bagged 204,725 deer during the 9-day Wisconsin hunting season.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says that number is up compared to last year, where 199,583 deer were killed.
The number of gun licenses sold also increased this year by 6 percent to 612,377.
It’s unclear how many hunters used the licenses during the hunting season.
The licenses are also valid for the youth gun hunt in October as well as the muzzle-loader season and four-day antlerless hunt in December.
Wisconsin’s gun season began on November 21 and wrapped up Sunday.
The DNR reports there were three firearm-related fatalities and five injuries during this year’s season.
