Hering said since the warmer temperatures are pushing off ice fishing season, now is a good time to check your auger and make sure your gear is ready.

He also said safety is key, so make sure you have equipment like ice picks.

The Arrowhead Ice Fishing Show starts up Friday, December 11 and runs through Sunday, December 13.
