Aurora Murder Suspect to Undergo Mental Health Evaluations
The man accused of gunning down his former girlfriend in Aurora will undergo mental health evaluations.
The judge ordered the evaluation on Monday for 51-year-old John Plevell.
Under the rules of criminal procedure, all criminal proceedings will be suspended.
Plevell has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Julie Hildreth outside of the American Legion in Aurora on November 8.
According to court records, Plevell was on probation at the time of the shooting for allegedly assaulting Hildreth.
Hildreth also had a domestic abuse No Contact Order against him.
Plevell is being held at the St. Louis County Jail on $1 million dollar bail.
