Police: St. Paul Student Choked Teacher Until he Passed Out

Police say a 16-year-old student allegedly slammed a teacher against the wall, choked him until he passed out and slammed him against the floor for trying to break up a fight. 

Authorities say the teacher suffered a traumatic brain injury. 

St. Paul Police were called to Central High School around 10:30 Friday morning on reports of an assault.  

Authorities also say the student’s 15-year-old brother allegedly punched the assistant principal during the fight in the lunchroom

Both teens were arrested. 

The 16-year-old was charged with felony third Degree Assault. 

The 15-year-old has been charged with 4th degree Assault and Obstructing the Legal Process.
