Police Arrest Suspect in Bemidji-Area Woman’s Disappearance

Man Arrested as Person of Interest in Ex-Girlfriend's Disappearance

Two men have been arrested in connection to the disappearance of a Bemidji after a body was found in a shallow grave. 

The Bemidji Police Department says after a multi-agency effort, that a body, believed to be that of 31-year-old Rose Downwind, was found in a shallow grave northwest of Bemidji. 

The body has been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and to confirm the identity. 

A 40-year-old man and a 31-year-old man have been arrested for their alleged roles in Downwind’s disappearance.

Police say another man remains a person of interest in the case. 

Downwind was last seen on October 21 leaving a home on Stoner Avenue. 

Police say her ex-boyfriend contacted her the day she disappeared although he was ordered to stay away from her.
