Duluth Police Arrest Two Teens for Car Prowling
Duluth Police have arrested two teens in connection to more than 110 car prowls Wednesday morning.
Police were called to the area of 1200 North Block 8th Avenue East around 1 Wednesday morning on reports of suspicious activity.
The 911 caller said there were footprints in the snow by vehicles, and door handles were clearly being checked.
Another 911 caller reported seeing two males with backpacks checking doors in the area.
Officers say one teen was hiding, and the other fled on foot when they arrived.
A 15-year-old male was taken into custody without incident.
The K9 unit tracked down the other suspect, a 17-year-old male, hiding in a car.
The duo was in possession of stolen items from several vehicles.
Police say the teens broke into more than 110 cars.
The 17-year-old was taken to Arrowhead Juvenile Center and is being held on several counts of motor vehicle tampering, fleeing on foot, and 5th degree Possession of a controlled substance.
