Hayward Man Charged with Murder

A Hayward man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his sister’s boyfriend. 

23-year-old Lorne Young was charged Monday with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. 

Young is accused of shooting and killing his sister’s boyfriend with a deer rifle following an argument between the man and his sister. 

The incident happened on Gunn Lake Road in the Township of Hayward on the morning of November 26. 

Police say the victim,  22-year-old Kyle Ross, died on scene. from an apparent gunshot wound. 

Just minutes after the shooting, Young turned himself into authorities. 

According to his obituary, Ross is expecting a daughter in March with Young’s sister. 

Young will be back in court on December 17.
