Neighbor of San Bernardino Killers to be Charged for Buying Guns

Law enforcement officials say charges are coming against the man who bought the assault rifles used in the San Bernardino mass shooting.

Police say he could be charged as early as Thursday.

The exact charges against the man are unknown.

Authorities say that 24-year-old Enrique Martinez legally purchased the high-powered guns used by Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife to kill 14 people at a holiday gathering at Farook’s place of employment.

Farook and Tashfeen Malik died in a shootout with police hours after the shooting.

Marquez allegedly admitted to buying the two rifles, but told police that he did not know about the plans for the San Bernardino attack.

He told investigators that he and Farook considered, but failed to carry out an attack in 2012.

Marquez has been cooperating with investigators since the shooting.

He is a long-time friend and former neighbor of the shooters.

The attacks in San Bernardino left 14 people dead and another 17 injured.
