Shop With A Cop: Hermantown

20 Kids Get Wal-Mart Shopping Spree

Twenty students from Hermantown schools spent Wednesday afternoon roaming the aisles of Wal-Mart with a $50 gift card in their hand and a Hermantown police officer in their back pocket.

Officers took time out of their work schedules and days off to escort the students around the store and help them pick out gifts for themselves and their families.

The “Shop With A Cop” program is a popular event with law enforcement across the country and allows officers to connect with kids in a positive way.

The gift cards the children received were provided by Bernick’s, Subway and Wal-Mart.
