Archdiocese Settle Civil Abuse Case

Agreement reached in clergy sex abuse case

An agreement was reached between the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and Ramsey County prosecutors in the civil abuse case that alleged the Archdiocese failed to protect children from sex abuse.

There continue to be criminal charges pending against the Archdiocese for repeatedly ignoring misconduct by one of their former priest.

Prosecutors say the three-year agreement that was made will provide better oversight of the archdiocese.

This settlement must still be approved by a bankruptcy court according to the Archdiocese attorney, but work is said to begin immediately.
