Burglary Suspect Arrested in Gnesen Township
A 36-year-old Duluth man is behind bars for his role in multiple burglaries over the weekend.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary report along Pequaywan Lake Road Saturday morning. While responding, Hugo’s Bar and Restaurant in Brimson also reported a gas drive off and described the suspect and his vehicle.
The vehicle matched a description of a car seen in the area of recent burglaries.
Police located and attempted to stop the car, which fled south along Pequaywan Lake Road.
The suspect eventually fled on foot and hid in a garage.
Authorities forced entry into the garage.
The man was taken into custody following a brief struggle with police.
He was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital as a precaution.
The suspect is facing many felony charges in connection to the burglaries.
The incident remains under investigation.
