One Killed, 37 Injured as Driver Plows into Pedestrians in Las Vegas

One person is dead and 37 others injured after a car crashed into pedestrians on the Las Vegas strip Sunday night.

Authorities identified the driver as 24-year-old Lakeisha Holloway.

They say Holloway wouldn’t stop and it appeared from surveillance video that the act was intentional.

At least three people remain in critical condition following the crash.

The incident took place in front of the Paris Hotel and Casino and Planet Hollywood Resort on South Las Vegas Boulevard around 6:30 Sunday night.

Police say Holloway drove her car up onto the sidewalk in front of the Paris Hotel and struck dozens of pedestrians.

Holloway fled the scene, but has since been taken into custody.

32-year-old Jessica Valenzuela of Buckeye, Arizona, died in the crash.

The Las Vegas strip was closed for nearly 12 hours following the incident.
