Iron River Man Killed in Bayfield County Crash

An Iron River man has died after his car struck was by a semi in Bayfield County. 

The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the crash around noon Wednesday along U.S. Highway 2 and Crooked Lake Road in Bayfield County. 

Police say a driver of a pick-up traveling westbound on Highway 2 lost control on slippery roads, slid into the eastbound lane and was hit by a semi. 

The driver of the pick-up, a 54-year-old Iron River man, was killed. 

The driver of the semi was not injured. 

Names are being withheld pending notification of family members. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
