Victim Identified in Fatal Bayfield Crash

Authorities have identified the Iron River man killed after being struck by a semi in Bayfield on Wednesday. 

54-year-old Dean Lusikka died on scene. 

Police say Lusikka was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 2 near Bayfield when he lost control of his pick-up on slippery roads, slid into the eastbound lane and was hit by a semi. 

The driver of the semi, 31-year-old Bryan Brasch, of Iron River, was not injured. 

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and that both men were wearing a seatbelt. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
