Mayor Hagen to meet with Muslim Community Leaders

Superior Mayor Bruce Hagen has accepted an invitation to meet with Muslim community leaders this weekend. 

Hagen and Superior City Councilors will take part in a community dinner at the Islamic Center of the Twin Ports mosque. 

The group was invited by Ibrahim Al-Qudah, the president of the ICTP. 

Hagen says he will be cutting his vacation short and flying back to Superior on his own time to meet with the Muslim community. 

“I’m looking forward to some dialogue and friendly conversation and to see what the personal dialogue will entail with people there,” said Hagen. 

The meeting comes after Hagen posted a comment on Facebook in response to a photo of Michelle Obama calling the President a Muslim. 

The dinner will  be held Saturday at 7 p.m.
