$577K in Overtime Paid to Scott Walker’s Bodyguards

Federal labor regulators say the Department of Transportation has paid more than half-a-million dollars in overdue overtime to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s bodyguards.

The U.S. Department of Labor issued a statement on Wednesday saying it’s investigators determined the DOT owed nine members of its Dignitary Protection Unit, which provides around-the-clock security for Walker, $577,189 in overtime between May 2013 and May of 2015.

The Department of Labor ordered the DOT to award the overtime pay in August.

The statement released Wednesday puts a dollar amount on how much the state owed.

It’s unknown when the state made the payments.
