DTA Pushes Back Opening of Multimodal Center
The Duluth Transit Authority has pushed back the opening of it’s downtown Multimodal Transit Center.
The Duluth Transportation Center was scheduled to open January 7.
Due to ongoing construction, the center will now have a grand-opening on February 4, and begin operations on February 7.
DTA General Manager Dennis Jensen says the opening has been pushed back to install building features that impact the safety of the buses and passengers.
Construction on the $30 million project began in June of 2014.
The 150,000 square foot facility will feature 9 bus loading bays and a parking ramp boasting more than 400 parking spaces in downtown.
The center will also be used by Jefferson Lines and Arrowhead Transit.
