Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $700 Million

Lottery officials say the estimated prize for this weekend’s Powerball drawing has climbed to $700 million, making it the largest lottery jackpot of any lottery game in U.S. history.

The largest jackpot on record was in March of 2012 when the Mega Millions drawing reached $656 million.

If sales continue to be strong nationwide, the  Powerball jackpot could be even larger for Saturday’s drawing.

The $700 million dollar prize comes out to an estimated $428.4 million cash payout.

Wednesday’s numbers were 2, 11, 47, 62 and 63 with a Powerball of 17.

The odds of winning the Powerball are 1 in 292.2 million.
