Duluth Man Charged After Flight is Diverted to Vancouver

A Duluth man is now facing charges for allegedly disrupting a flight from Anchorage to Denver.

Fifty-four year old Nicholas Aliksyuk is facing a count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and one for mischief to property over $5,000.

He’s accused of leaving a threatening message discovered by a United Airlines crew Saturday.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Richmond the crew then decided to land the plane in Vancouver.

The Duluth man remains in Canadian custody.
