2500 Arrested for DWI over the Holidays in Minnesota

More than 2,500 people were arrested for drunken driving over the holiday season in Minnesota. 

The Department of Public Safety calls the numbers disturbing and frightening. 

More than 300 law enforcement agencies across Minnesota took part in extra DWI enforcement from November 25 to January 2. 

The following is a list of the highest alcohol concentrations recorded during the crackdown: 

-0.40 Minnetonka Police Department

-0.39 Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office

-0.35 Bloomington, Bemidji and Plymouth Police Depts. 

-.34 Virginia Police Department

-0.33 Dakota, Carver and Wright County Sheriff’s Offices, St. Francis Police Dept. 

Police say if you choose to drink, you have the responsibility to find a sober ride home.
