Explosion at Duluth House

Crews are on scene of an apparent explosion at a Duluth house.

The Duluth Fire Department responded to the home at 611 Everett Street in Duluth’s Morley Heights neighborhood around 9 Thursday morning.

When crews arrived, they found the back yard littered with debris, consistent with an explosion.

Officials say two people were in the home when the explosion happened.

They both escaped the home unharmed.

The damage was sustained to the back of the house.

Crews searched the house for a missing dog, which was later found at the neighbors home.

Authorities say a propane tank may be to blame for the explosion, however, the cause remains investigation.

Firefighters remained on scene for about two hours.

Damage is estimated at $230,000.
