Chipotle to Shut Down Stores for Food Safety Meeting

Chipotle says its stores will open several hours later than normal for one day next month so the company can hold a meeting following a series of E-coli outbreaks.

The company says all of its stores will open at 3 p.m. on February 8, instead of the typical opening at 11 a.m.

The delayed opening is so that employees can take part in a team meeting to discuss changes the company is implementing to tighten its food safety measures.

Chipotle will also thank employees for their work in recent weeks.

Sales have tanked at Chipotle restaurants nationwide following an E-Coli outbreak that came to light at the end of October.

The problem worsened after a norovirus outbreak in Boston in early December that left dozens sick.
