Crews Search for 12 Marines Missing after Helicopter Crash
Rescue crews are searching for survivors after two U.S. Marine helicopters collided off the coast of Oahu.
Twelve crew members are unaccounted for following the crash.
The Coast Guard says the aircraft, from the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, were believed to have collided late Thursday night during a nighttime training mission.
Officials spotted a debris area spanning about 2 miles.
An empty life raft was also found Friday morning.
The Coast Guard is the lead agency in the search. The agency has helicopters on scene and is coordinating with some Navy and Air force aircraft.
A Honolulu Fire Department rescue boat is also searching for the twelve crew members.
