New Duluth Chief Financial Officer Appointed

Duluth Mayor Emily Larson has appointed the new Chief Financial Officer for the city. 

Wayne Parson, the current City Auditor for the City of Duluth has been selected for the CFO position. 

Parson has worked for the city since May of 1995, where he began his career as a City Auditor.  

He has been part of the City’s finance team for 20 years. 

Parson graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1981 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  He is also a certified Public Accountant. 

The city started an open hiring process for the Chief Financial Officer in early 2015.  Mayor Larson made the final determination shortly after taking office. 

Parson’s name will be submitted to the Duluth City Council for approval at their January 25 meeting.
