Duluth-based Lion Hotel Group Open’s New Hotel in Bloomington

Duluth-based Lion Hotel Group opened Minnesota’s first Home2 Suites by Hilton in Bloomington. 

The new hotel opened Wednesday as part of the second phase Penn American development at 2270 West 80-1/2 Street, just five miles from the Mall of America. 

The 107 suite hotel is placed on top of retail space that includes Red Robin and an AT&T store. 

An underground parking ramp connects the hotel to the new Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market. 

The Home2 Suites hotel offers amenities such as an Oasis Lobby, Home2 MKT for grab and go items, Spin2 Cycle, a combined laundry and fitness area and complementary breakfast.  The hotel also boasts an indoor and outdoor pool with a fire pit and gas grills. 

The Lion Hotel group partnered with Minneapolis developer United Properties for the hotel portion of the development. 

Phase I of the project was completed in 2012 and includes 234 market rate apartments and townhomes, underground parking and more than 14,000 square feet of retail.
