Police: Ashland Stabbing, Robbery Drug Related
The Ashland Police Department says the stabbing and robbery of a man last week appears to be drug related.
A 46-year-old man was robbed and stabbed on January 19 at Maslowski Beach.
He was taken to Memorial Medical Center and has since been treated for multiple stab wounds and released.
Police say the man agreed to meet a woman at the beach to borrow her money. When the two met, the female instead robbed him of the money and ran to a van parked nearby.
The man chased her in an attempt to get the cash back.
Three people then got out of the van and attacked the man.
One person stabbed him in the back, hand and leg.
The suspects then got back into the van and drove away, running over the victim’s foot.
The Ashland Police Department says the incident remains under investigation, however, arrests could be coming in the near future.
