Craigslist Sale Ends in Shots Fired, Shakopee Walmart Locked Down

Police are investigating after a Craigslist sale turned into an attempted robbery and shots fired outside of the Shakopee Walmart.

The Shakopee Police Department responded to the Walmart at 8101 Old Carriage Court around 6:30 Monday night on reports of shots fired.

Authorities locked down the store as a safety precaution.

Police say a man agreed to meet a buyer off of Craigslist to sell an item.  When the men met,  the buyer allegedly pulled a handgun and attempted to rob the seller.

The suspect fled into a vehicle with another male inside.

Police are searching for the two suspects, who were driving a grey or silver Chevy Venture van, with an unknown Minnesota license plate.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Shakopee Police Department.

Authorities are reminding the public that the Shakopee Police Department is a designated Craigslist transaction location.
