Duluth Fire Dept. Seeking Help Keeping Fire Hydrants Clear of Snow

The Duluth Fire Department and ComfortSystems are seeking the public’s help in keeping fire hydrants clear of snow.

Authorities are asking residents to “ADOPT” a fire hydrant near your home for the winter.

Shoveling and clearing the snow off hydrants will help the Duluth Fire Department have easy, speedy access to the hydrants in case of an emergency.

ComfortSystems is also asking residents to keep their furnace safe.  The company says to make sure your fuel regulator is shielded from falling ice, the air intake and exhaust are clear of snow and working properly and Carbon Monoxide detectors are working.
