Duluth Police, Fire Chief Positions Now Posted

A Public Opinion Survey Is Also Posted

The city of Duluth has officially posted the job openings for the city’s police chief and fire chief.

Both of the jobs require a four-year degree in public or business administration, or related field, as well as seven years of leadership experience.

Duluth Mayor Emily Larson mentioned that a public survey has also been posted, inviting comments and questions from the community.

“I will make a determination based on all of the input, and those determinations will be brought forward to the City Council,” said Larson.

Deputy Chief Mike Tusken will take on the duties of the police chief’s office during the search for the permanent position, and Deputy Fire Chief Erik Simonson has also taken on some of the fire chief responsibilities during the search.
