Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Evacuated for Smoke

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College was evacuated after smoke was found in the building Tuesday.

The Cloquet Area Fire District responded to an automatic fire alarm at the college around 9:30 Tuesday morning.

When crews arrived, they found smoke on the second floor.

The CAFD says the source of smoke was from a failed air handling motor in the heating-ventilation-air-conditioning system.

Firefighters evacuated the school, while district staff worked to ventilate the building.

Classes are back in session and campus is open as usual.
