Mirage Coach Excited for Seniors

Proctor-Hermantown Girls Headed to State Tournament

The Wild and interim coach John Torchetti won’t be at the Xcel Energy Center for more than a week because Girls State Hockey moves in, starting February 17th.

The Class A is where the Northland’s lone team is found.  The Proctor–Hermantown Mirage skate to State for the second time in the last three seasons.

The Mirage were given the 4-seed in the eight-team field.  Proctor-Hermantown faces off with 5-seed New Prague in the last quarterfinal Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The Mirage beat New Prague 3-1 in the season-opener, but lost as the 4–seed in their last trip to State in 2014.
However, coach Glen Gilderman is satisfied to send his seniors off with another chance at State.

“I’m so happy for them, said Gilderman.  “This group, they did a really nice job leading this year.  It’s very cool to see them get this opportunity.”
