Truax Impressed With Black Bear

Pro Boxer Fought in the Northland for the First Time

‘Golden’ Caleb Truax, one of Minnesota’s top pro boxers, was impressive as he stopped Melvin Betancourt in the 4th round over the weekend at Black Bear Casino.

Truax improved to 26–2–2 in his first fight in nearly a year.  Also, even though he’s a regular visitor, Saturday was Truax’s first fight anywhere in the Northland. However, Truax says don’t expect this fight to be his last in the area.
To be his last.

“It’s my first time, but I’ve probably been to five or six fights here over the years,” said Truax.  “It’s a cool venue, reminds me of Hinckley where i started my career.  All the people are nice and I’d love to come back.”

The next boxing event at Black Bear will be on Tuesday, May 17th.  Truax says he hopes to be on the card.
