Bemidji Man Back in Custody after Escaping Arrest

A Bemidji man is back behind bars after escaping from custody and fleeing into a school.

26-year-old Billie Joe Large was arrested on Tuesday for a probation violation, possession of methamphetamine and escaping from custody after fleeing the Department of Corrections Office.

Large ran into St. Phillip’s Catholic School as children were exiting the building.

Police located him in a third floor classroom, hiding under a desk.  He was arrested without incident.
