UMD Shows Off New High Tech Classroom

UMD proudly showed off their new high-tech learning classroom Thursday.

UMD’s Swenson College of Science and Engineering’s new classroom engages students in an active learning atmosphere.

The classroom has six tables with microphones, televisions and whiteboards along with making the educational concepts easier to grasp with the hands on learning.

This atmosphere gives students a skills set for future work environments.

“In the work environment you don’t just work by yourself. You work in team you work in projects together this helps you build teams and communication outside of the school,” said student Nick Salaba.

Head of UMD’s Physics Department Mar Seigar added, “Engaged in learning physics, it’s a physics classroom they get to participate in demonstration is completely different way of traditional lecture.”

Seigar has already seen the results of the active learning classroom with the students having fun learning, laughter and taking an active role in their education.
