Traffic Deaths Increase in Wisconsin
This year is already turning into a dangerous one for drivers on the roads in Wisconsin.
Traffic fatalities have surpassed last year’s numbers.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says that 79 people have died on the roads so far this year. That’s 19 more compared to this time last year.
Those numbers include seven pedestrians and one bicyclist.
The Wisconsin DOT says 47 people were killed in traffic crashes in February, which is 22 more than February of 2015.
The safest month of February in terms of traffic deaths since the end of World War II occurred in 2014, with 20 fatalities. The deadliest February was in 1968 with 73 fatalities.
