Rangers Thrilled to Play on State Floor

MI-B Boys in First Class A Tournament Since 2005

When you talk State Basketball and Mountain Iron-Buhl High School, you’re normally talking girls hoops.  However, MI–B’s boys are State-bound this year for the first time since 2005.

The Rangers punched their ticket with a section final upset of North Woods.  Now, instead of going to Williams Arena to merely cheer on their classmates on the girls team, the Rangers get their own shot in Minneapolis.

“We went down the last how many years to watch both the girls, but we also went down as a team to watch the boys,” said junior Jaylon Holmes.  “Now to be able to play in that, instead of being in the stands in truly awesome.”  “It’s nice to get back on that floor and the kids are really looking forward to it,” added coach Luke Winans.  “It’s just a great atmosphere down there.”

Mountain Iron-Buhl takes on Central Minnesota Christian Thursday afternoon at Williams Arena.
