A Basketball Team Raised Money For A Grieving Family With A Special Breakfast

Hundreds packed the Washburn High School gym for a special pancake breakfast this Saturday morning.

11-year-old Judah Christenson passed away Wednesday of a brain tumor and his older brother Cody is on the the Washburn basketball team.

Cody’s teammates stepped in and planned the breakfast with the intent to help fund treatment costs. The money raised will now go towards funeral costs. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming to the family.

“The emotions go up and down, but I was looking forward so much to being here just to thank people and make sure people knew we weren’t here to be sad. We’re here to celebrate his life,” Judah’s father Leland Christenson said. Funeral services for Judah will be held on Sunday, March 20 at Ashland High School.
