Body of Missing Wisconsin Woman Found in Mississippi River

Sheriff’s officials in western Wisconsin say the body of a missing mother has been found in her van submerged in the Mississippi River.

23-year-old Marya Christiansen was last seen leaving a home in Red Wing, Minnesota  around 2:30 in the morning on March 12.  She lives across the river in Hager City, Wisconsin.    Her boyfriend called police when she didn’t arrive home.

The sheriff’s department’s water patrol unit found the woman’s van near the Trenton Island boat launch under a back channel bridge Wednesday.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s dive and rescue team recovered Christiansen’s body after pulling the vehicle from the water.
