Stress is a fact of life. Dr. Deepak Bhatt, a cardiologist, says stress management is crucial to healthy living because the results can be harmful. A rise in blood pressure and heart rate can be particularly troublesome.
“The elevations, if repetitive, if pronounced, can ultimately lead to things like heart attack or heart failure.”
Dr. Bhatt also says stress can lead to unhealthy behaviors, such as not exercising and not eating right – as well as other bad habits, like smoking and excessive drinking.
