Fun Run Kicks Off Grandma’s Marathon Season

Active Adventures: St. Fennessy 4K

Grandma’s Marathon events kick off this weekend with the St. Fennessy 4K.

The Saint Fennessy 4K was created in honor of longtime Grandma’s Marathon friend Don Fennessy.

An original member of both the Grandma’s Marathon board and the Young Athletes Foundation, he was inducted into our Hall of Fame in 2004.

The race will begin at Hermantown Elementary School and travel along Arrowhead and Lavaque Roads and finish at McKenzie’s Bar & Grill in the Hermantown Square.

A post-race party featuring a beer garden and live music will be held at the finish line.

All finishers will receive a complimentary beverage and commemorative knit cap.

The race takes place Saturday, March 19 at 9:30 a.m.

Race-day registration is available for $30 and $10 for kids 14 & under from 8 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. inside Hermantown Middle School.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Young Athletes Foundation.
