Hibbing High School Teacher Placed on Leave

A Hibbing High School teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.

Superintendent Brad Johnson says the school district has received a variety of allegations against the teacher.   Johnson declined to go into detail, but did say the investigation stems from social media posts by both adults and students.

Johnson says the teacher’s presence in the school could have possibly compromised the investigation.

The allegations are being investigated by an outside law firm.

Johnson says they are not related to the classroom.

It’s unclear at this time how long the investigation will take.

“We’re going to make sure we take the time we need to take to conduct a thorough investigation,”  said Johnson.

Johnson declined to identify the staff member, but did say the individual is tenured and has been at Hibbing High School for quite awhile.
