Duluth International Airport Security

DIA practices scenarios in case an attack could happen here.

Whenever an attack like the one in Brussels occurs, other airports stay on high alert and that’s the case here at home in Duluth.

The Duluth International Airport says passenger safety is always their number one priority.

They hold several security drills and go through different practice scenarios each year.

“We get advised consistently that Duluth is very strict on their security on screenings and what we do is say thank you to that and that our screeners are doing a good job and their responsibility is to get travelers to a safe environment,” said Natalie Peterson, airport director of communications.

They say the airport is on security watch twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The airport also remains in constant contact with police and other emergency agencies.
