Community Meeting Scheduled to Review Central Property Proposal

A community meeting has been set to review the offer that Tisher Creek made on Central High School.

The meeting will be held on Monday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Park Middle School auditorium.

Tischer Creek Duluth Building Co., a non-profit entity affiliated with Edison Charter Schools, is offering $14.2 million to purchase the former Central high School from ISD 709.

The charter school made an offer back in 2014, but it hit a wall because the purchase would go against district policy.

The district is asking for $13.7 million dollars, but Tischer Creek has offered more, with a goal of building a new Edison Charter High School.
